The public bench can be used as a pause or break during your day, providing an opportunity to rest your feet, gather your things, or meet with friends. The bench is an object used across the world in many ways, is it easily accessible and relatable to most.

Take a seat is a participatory project using the public bench as a prop to facilitate interactions amongst people. The bench is considered as a place for contemplation and relaxation as the viewer is invited to sit as it floats in the water. Exploring the placement of benches and how this can influence our viewing of a location, when sitting on a bench, the viewer is invited to consider the landscape from an unusual perspective.
