Biography

Shannon Watson(b.1996), is an emerging artist based in the South West of England. Watson uses a socially engaged approach to explore the socio-cultural history and social construct of chosen places. Conducting local research. she interacts with people and communities that have personal connections with particular locations or themes. Learning of their first hand experiences and recollections and reflecting on these encounters, she develops performative happenings and installations. Focusing largely on interaction and engagement, Watson uses her work as a platform to encourage discussions around social situations and the previous realities that existed within a given cultural space.
